Kirby Anderson, Winemaker for Tommy Town, is a non-interventionist whose approach to winemaking allows the wines to fully express their microclimates, with minimal influence imposed in the winery. “I have been making wine from the eastern end of Santa Ynez Valley for over a decade, and I love the fruit that grows there,” Anderson notes. “My winemaking philosophy is ‘Don’t do anything unnecessary’, and the fruit from Happy Canyon and Santa Ynez Valley allows me to stay true to my goal.”
Tommy Town Vineyards is dedicated to sustainability through a principled approach to farming. Its estate vineyards are meticulously cultivated and managed to produce low yields, and purchased fruit is selected from the region's most respected growers who follow the same philosophy. Traditional, restrained techniques are the cornerstone to Tommy Town's winemaking. It focuses on growing perfect fruit and a reserved approach to oak to produce wines of character, depth, elegance and balance.
